Lloyd James Brooks of Homewood has been appointed a Cook County Circuit Court judge.

 

He will serve from Dec. 20, 2018, through Dec. 7, 2020.

 

Lloyd James Brooks of Homewood has been appointed a Cook County Circuit Court judge. He will serve from Dec. 20, 2018, through Dec. 7, 2020.

He has been in private practice the past 15 years focusing on appeals, real estate litigation, mortgage foreclosure defense and consumer protection. He founded the firm Consumer Legal Group P.C. in Matteson. He has argued before state and federal courts.

Brooks, a May 2000 graduate of Northwestern University School of Law, was a member of the National Moot Court team and senior editor of the Journal of International Law and Business.

 

Brooks and his wife, Jamilla, have two children.
