Scheffers top player for Trinity College

Homewood-Flossmoor Park District commissioners agreed Aug. 7 to submit plans for an Open Space Land and Development (OSLAD) grant to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources for the redesign of Homewood Estates Park.

Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
