An interfaith service in honor of the victims of Saturday’s shooting at Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Homewood’s synagogue, Shir Tikvah, at 1424 183rd St.
The gathering is meant as a lament and healing service for those in the South Suburbs.
Police say the alleged shooter Robert Bowers gunned down 11 persons attending a service at the Pittsburgh temple. Police reported he said he wanted to kill Jews. He has been charged with 29 criminal counts, including 11 federal hate-crime charges. Another 11 counts of using a firearm to kill carry a maximum penalty of death.
