Grants helping Irons Oaks maintain its oak population

Marian Catholic High School has announced its quarterly honor roll.  The selected students achieved academic success with grade point averages of 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Homewood and Flossmoor students honored are: Flossmoor — Calyn Brumley, Alexandria Davis, Caroline DiLuia, Jaya Hall, Cleveland Hardy III, Fiona Keating, Erin Kelly, Jacob Klupchak, Thomas Klupchak Jr., Pete Frumencius Macasaet, Romy Macasaet IV and John Malloy. Homewood — Anthony Armendariz, Lauren Berner, Alexander Bertucci, Bianca Faso, Mary Katherine Lynch, Madeline Swanson, Ryan Swanson, Ryan Taylor and Amaiya Torian.  . . .

Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Homewood 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, then follows Ridge Road to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
  • Flossmoor 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High and ends downtown, where there will be fun activities.
