Homewood announces 2018 Hall of Fame inductees

Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, in partnership with the Thorn Creek chapter of the Audubon Society, will be offering three guided migratory bird walks at the preserve in coming weeks.Members of the Thorn Creek Audubon Society will lead small groups out into the preserve in search of migratory birds. There will be two walks, one at 8 a.m. and another at 10:30 a.m., on Sunday, April 7, Sunday, April 28, and Sunday, May 19. Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
