After decades in Homewood, Dunning’s Market announces move to Flossmoor

Oak Meadow LLC notified Glenwood that it will no longer pursue the development of a controversial electricity-generating plant in the village.In a letter dated Wednesday, March 27, addressed to Glenwood residents, Mayor Ronald Gardiner announced the company's decision and provided a brief history of the project.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
