Two people were shot Sunday night during an altercation at the Walmart fuel station, 17550 Halsted St., in Homewood.
Homewood police said officers responded to the scene shortly after 8 p.m. after receiving reports of a disturbance that included shots fired.
“Responding officers located two persons with gunshot injuries and learned that there had been a physical fight in the parking lot between several individuals,” police said in a statement issued shortly before 11 p.m.
Homewood Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene, and the injured persons were transported to the hospital with what police believe to be non-life threatening injuries.
“There are persons of interest in custody and there is no apparent on-going safety issue related to this incident,” police said.
