H-F’s Unified Basketball team wins state title for second time

(Chronicle file photo) Amid all that making lists and checking them twice, Santa is making an early holiday stop at Flossmoor’s annual Winterfest celebration on Dec. 8. 
The man in the red suit will be on hand for photos at Winterfest and will then lead a parade from the Flossmoor Public Library to Flossmoor Park for the village’s tree lighting ceremony.

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
