Marian Catholic High School is celebrating its homecoming this week. Various events and activities will take place at the school during this celebration.As a reflection of the school’s 60th anniversary, the theme for this year’s Homecoming celebration is “Homecoming Rewind – Dancing through the Decades.” Students are celebrating the week with a theme for each day. Monday was Opposite Day, followed by Dynamic Duo Day on Tuesday, Decade Day on Wednesday, Class Color Day on Thursday and Spirit Day on Friday. The school week will conclude with a homecoming pep rally in the West Gym on Friday . . .

Summer events

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
