Construction projects costing about $3.9 million leave Flossmoor School District 161 with a projected deficit of about $3.3 million for fiscal year 2019 despite an operating budget surplus of nearly $700,000. The Flossmoor School Board on Monday heard a preliminary budget report as well as an update on three construction projects that were supposed to be completed before the beginning of the school year. Associate Superintendent Fran LaBella said she expects the district to see about $35.8 million in revenue and $35.2 million in expenses for the upcoming fiscal year, leaving an operating . . .
