Snow day adds to school year as boards approve 2018-19 calendars

That snow day schools took Feb. 9 will extend this school year by a day. Homewood District 153 and Flossmoor District 161 will count June 7 as a make-up day. Homewood-Flossmoor High School information was not available. Schools add an extra five days to their calendars at the end of the school year in the event of emergency closings, such as the snow day. The school boards also approved the 2018-19 calendars at board meetings this month.
