Homewood District 153 had 21 students participate in “Reflections,” a National PTA art program, and art work by 10 of those students advanced to the state level. Of those, five received honorable mentions.
Student participants were: Caylum Ganshirt, Jenesys K. Harris, Ryan Jackson, Gavin Jursa, Jessie Jursa, Shane Jursa, Rachel Latman, Morgan Lawrence, Gehrig Lucas, Abigail O’Quin, Sophia O’Quin, Aubrey Ooms, Madison Schneidewind, Aniylah Simpson, Madison Thirston, Auguste Wasniowski, Cyanna Wasniowski, Ginger Wilford-Holley, Kendall Williams, Tyler Wilson, Philo Zarlcenormian.
Students worked with a theme of “Within Reach.” In total, the Homewood PTA submitted 33 art pieces. Students from preschool through eighth grade participated.
Submissions doubled this year, the second year Homewood PTA participated, said PTA organizer Camille O’Quin.
