Travel Brokers AS July1-31 2018

Students in grades 2 through 12 participating in summer theater at Homewood-Flossmoor High School will conclude the session with three performances of “Big the Musical,” the theater for young audiences version. Performances will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday, July 20, in the Mall Auditorium in H-F’s South Building. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students, children and senior citizens. The musical is based on the book by John Weiddman and the 20th Century Fox film that starred Tom Hanks . . .

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
