Cece Belue serving on Homewood library board

Cece Belue took her seat on the Homewood Public Library’s board at the Jan. 17 meeting. Belue said she stepped forward to take on the position because “it’s an opportunity for me to serve the community in a different capacity.” She is volunteering with the District 153 PTA as fundraising chair and serves with a number of other organizations.

She is excited to be chosen from a number of candidates to fill a vacancy on the board.

Belue said she stepped forward to take on the position because “it’s an opportunity for me to serve the community in a different capacity.” She is volunteering with the District 153 PTA as fundraising chair and serves with a number of other organizations.
 

A five-year resident of Homewood, she received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Roosevelt University and earned a master’s degree in teaching from National Louis University and an educational administration master’s degree from Governors State University. She is an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) facilitator for the Joliet School District. She also has served as a school assistant principal and was on the library staff while a student at Roosevelt Unniversity.
 
The Belue family members are all Homewood library users, she said. Belue and her husband, William, have four sons: Isaiah, 17, a senior at Homewood-Flossmoor High School; William Joseph, 10, a student at Churchill School; Joshua, 2, and Daniel, 1.
