H-F High announces IB student honorees

From a patron's point of view, Homewood's first Artisan Street Fair was a cornucopia of creativity and ingenuity. Booths lined Martin Avenue and Hickory Road with "cool stuff" — that was the name of Allison Burnett's booth at the corner of Martin and Hickory — made of myriad materials: clay, wood, metal, fabric and paper.Across the street from Burnett's booth was Larry Van Heel, a regular vendor at Homewood's farmers market. Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
