Starting Monday, Oct. 23, the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District’s Racquet & Fitness Club, in partnership with the United States Tennis Association Midwest Section, is offering two programs for adults interested in tennis.
The Start/ReStart Tennis programs are geared toward adults who have never played tennis or those returning to the sport after some time away. Participants use modified equipment and court sizes designed to help them improve their skills and abilities while gaining confidence in their game.
The program uses traditional beginner drills focusing on proper technique with the goal of helping players learn to serve and rally successfully.
The sessions will meet Mondays and Wednesdays, Oct. 23 through Dec. 6, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., or Mondays and Thursdays, Oct. 23 through Dec. 7, from 6 to 7 p.m. Registration is open until Nov. 8. The fee is $162.
