Eileen Rohrer, manager of the racquet club, said the club “has something for everyone of any age. Tennis is a game for a lifetime. With Umang’s success both on the court and off, it is going to be a very exciting time here at the club.”

A native of India, Chadda was ranked No. 1 in doubles, No. 7 in the under-18 and No. 3 in the under-16 singles. He represented India in the World Youth Cup in Japan in 1995. He played professionally for five years playing satellites and challengers on the world tour before coming to the United States on a college tennis scholarship.

He earned NCAA rankings: 12th in doubles and in the top 20 in singles. He also ranked No. 7 in singles and No. 3 in doubles in the NCAA Midwest division. He has a master’s degree in sports management from Western Illinois University.

Chadda has been a hitting partner for top tennis professionals, including Pete Sampras, Jennifer Capriati, Andrew Kratzman and Anastasia Myskina.

He has been a professional coach in the United States and Canada, and a tennis promoter for U.S. Davis Club team player David Wheaton and French Open doubles champion Luke Jensen.

The H-F Racquet & Fitness Club has been recognized by the United States Tennis Association for its various programs including its annual Tennisfest.

Rohrer said Chadda has a “proven track record for growing the game of tennis to include all groups and levels,” and she is looking forward to his efforts to grow the racquet club program that starts with children as young as 3 years old, helping them develop hand/eye coordination.

The H-F racquet club has formal training sessions in a 10-and-under age group, and then moves students into junior development and junior excellence programs that prepare students for competitive and collegiate play. The club also has adult drill and play, adult/senior social and adult competitive play.
