Cancer Support Center hosts first ‘Survivor Camp’ on Sept. 16

The Cancer Support Center is hosting its first Survivor Camp on Saturday, Sept. 16, designed to give information and tools for cancer survivors. The free event is open to anyone who has battled or is currently battling cancer. Caregivers are welcome to join and take part in the sessions as well.  The event will be held at the conference center at Prairie State College, 202 Halsted St. in Chicago Heights. Registration begins at 8 a.m. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guest speakers include Rev. Carl Williamson of Cancer Treatment . . .

  • Nanny Nikki holiday music program at Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., at 11 a.m.
  • Miracle on Martin in downtown Homewood, 3 to 6 p.m.
