The Cancer Support Center is hosting its 26th Annual Golf Outing on Monday, Aug. 14, at Flossmoor Country Club. After golf, two outstanding supporters Anthony Panici and Rich Merlo will be honored with a special humanitarian award.
Registration for the annual event in memory of Steve Fallick will begin at noon followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m. for 18 holes of golf, including a boxed lunch. Golfers will have a chance to win prizes for longest drive, closest to the pin, etc.
The reception will begin at 6 p.m. and the silent auction will close at 7:30 p.m.
The cost for the event is $225 for individual golfers and includes golf followed by cocktails and dinner. The foursome rate is $900. Tickets for the reception are $40.
At the dinner, the Cancer Support Center will present Panici and Merlo with the TRJ Humanitarian Award for their ongoing support. Together they organize a benefit golf outing in memory of Panici’s wife.
“We are honored to award Anthony and Rich for their dedication in supporting and growing the Cancer Support Center,” said Executive Director Sue Armato. “Anthony started the Lynn Panici Golf outing 17 years ago in memory of his late wife who passed away from breast cancer.
“Together, Anthony and Rich have put on the amazing (Panici) event to raise money to support the programs at the center. With no benefit to themselves, these two men have generously given their time, talent and treasure to truly make a difference in the lives of complete strangers. These acts define a humanitarian and we are honored to give Anthony and Rich this award.”
