The Homewood Public Library is hosting its first ever young readers Book Trivia SmackDown at 6 p.m. on July 26.
SmackDown is a trivia game that will test knowledge on the 2018 Rebecca Caudill Young Readers’ Book Award master list for middle school readers. The event is similar to the Battle of the Books, but SmackDown is an individual challenge.
After reading a book from the 2018 Caudill List of books, visit the library to make your mark on the poster in the MidZone and see what everyone else is reading. The books with the most marks will have the most questions at SmackDown.
This competition is only open to students entering third through sixth grade. Age should not be an issue. If you can read the book and know the answer, even the youngest participant could win.
The top three winners will receive prize baskets with values from $25 to $50, including a Snap Circuits rover, free books and Amazon gift cards.
Anyone can come watch the SmackDown and cheer on participants at the library, 17917 Dixie Highway.
Kids who want to participate must register for the program online. Visithttp://bit.ly/2rLfzOm to go directly to the registration link, or visitwww.homewoodlibrary.org and click “searchable calendar” then go to July 26.
