Midnight is a bit late for many youngsters to stay up on New Year’s Eve, so Homewood will again offer kids a chance to celebrate the arrival of 2017 a half-day early.
The annual Noon Year’s Eve party will begin at 11 a.m. with entertainment by Chicago Boyz Acrobatic Team, a professional gymnastics troupe consisting of talented young men and boys from the Chicagoland area.
The team performs acrobatic tumbling routines with impeccable timing, according to village officials. The team was a semifinalist on “America’s Got Talent” in 2013.
Acrobatic Team perform during
the 2015 Noon Year’s Eve
party.
Doors at the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District Auditorium, 2010 Chestnut Road, will open at 10:30 a.m. Seating is limited to 500.
Following the performance, visitors receive hats, tiaras and noisemakers for the countdown to the noon balloon-drop that marks the change of years.
Friends and families can take Noon Year’s Eve pictures in a photo booth with fun props, and snack on sliders provided by White Castle. The event also is supported by Comcast.
The event is free and open to the public.
