Homewood-Flossmoor High School seniors Ernst Coupet, Lance Davis, Eric Hagerman, Shannon Jordan and Meera Patel have been selected for the Exelon Generation internship program.

The five will be paid for their work during the 10-week internship in summer 2017 at the company . . .

Summer events

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
