On Saturday, Nov. 19, the Homewood Public Library is joining with more than 2,000 libraries around the world for the ninth annual International Games Day @ Your Library celebration.
The library will offer special gaming programs and events suitable for the whole family from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Patrons will enjoy games from the regular collection, including Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, Sushi Go, King of Tokyo and more.
In addition, patrons will be able to play giant Kerplunk and other not-so-typical games.
Refreshments will be served and a raffle will be held throughout the day.
International Games Day is an initiative run by volunteers from around the world and supported by the American Library Association‘s Games and Gaming Round Table, in collaboration with Nordic Game Day and the Australian Library and Information Association. The goal is to reconnect communities through their libraries around the educational, recreational, and social value of all types of games.
