On Saturday, Nov. 12, the community will have an opportunity to walk through the H-F Racquet & Fitness Club facilities and learn about its programs when the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District hosts an open house from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the facility, 2920 W. 183rd St. in Homewood.

The open house includes free access to the club, including the brand new Pilates studio, tennis courts, fitness center, group fitness classes, small group training classes, 40-Love Lounge, a four-lane pool and locker rooms.

The club first opened in 1973 and has had three major expansions. Today members use the facilities that total more than 12,000 square feet of space. The club includes an indoor track, more than 50 pieces of cardio equipment, a free weight area and a group fitness studio accommodating more than 40 classes.

Members also have access to 10 indoor tennis courts, racquetball, a 4-lane lap pool, a private Pilates personal training studio and upscale amenities including locker rooms with towel service, steam rooms and whirlpools and a members lounge.

The club offers personal training, group and private lessons, special adult and youth programs as well as programs for special needs students.

The club’s new Pilates private studio is complete with two Pilates reformers, chair, ladder barrel and tower equipment. Private and duet sessions are available to club members and non-members alike and all sessions are taught by certified Pilates instructors, said Leigha Zajac, the club’s membership sales and marketing supervisor.
