James Hart School singers and musicians have been selected to perform Saturday as part of the program finale of the Illinois Music Educators Association (IMEA) Elementary and Junior High Music Festival.

The 13 Hart students will join with students from across the southwest region of the Chicago area. The public is invited to the 3 p.m. program at Lincoln-Way Central High School, 1801 E. Lincoln Highway in New Lenox. There is a $5 admission fee.

Representing Homewood’s Hart School are eighth graders Grace Anderson, Kirkland Benson, Grace Gallus, Tacy Graham, Madilyn Harris, Asya Lengel, Damian Nava, Andrew Heligas, Savanah Holly and Sofi Riedel and seventh graders Alexander Bertucci, Isabella Jackson and Ellie Wojcikowski.

The IMEA Division I program draws students from more than 60 schools to make up a 50-member Festival Band, a100-piece Festival Orchestra and a 150-voice Festival Chorus.

At James Hart, the choir is directed by teachers Adrienne Olsen and Emily Kasper; orchestra director is teacher Sara White; and band directors are teacher Matthew D. Johnson, Kim Tallungan, and Sean McQuinn.
