Foundation 153 ready for annual walk Sept. 18

Registration is open for the 2016 Foundation 153 Fund Run set for 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 18.

The walk, run and dash events involve community members of all ages. Proceeds will enable the foundation continue underwriting various programs at Willow, Churchill and James Hart schools that can not be funded through the District 153 budget.

The Fund Run activities start at the District 153 administration offices at 18205 Aberdeen Ave.

Registration is now open. The family rate is $70, or participation fees for 5K run/walk is $25 for adults, $20 for youth 17 and younger. Runners 12 and under will automatically be entered in the kids dash. There is a $10 fee for kids who only run the 153-yard dash.

Registrations after Sept. 14 will be accepted from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Homewood Farmers Market, or from 8 to 9 a.m. the day of the Fund Run. Fees will be $30 for 5K adult; $25 for 5K youth and $10 for Kids’ Dash. Family rates will not be applicable.

Supporters who choose not to race can make donations payable to Foundation 153 sent to Homewood School District 153, 18205 Aberdeen St., Homewood, IL 60430.
