Locations that carry the Chronicle print edition

It probably wasn’t the Grinch.

But, like Dr. Seuss’ green-faced villain, thieves threw a damper on holiday cheer Monday in Flossmoor.

Police said two residential burglaries were reported in the village Monday. Both are believed to have taken place between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

 The first incident occurred in the 2300 block of Golfview Lane where the homeowner arrived home and discovered the front door unlocked. Jewelry and a computer were discovered missing.

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
