District 161 names new principal at Western Avenue School
Less than a month after the principal at Western Avenue School resigned, Flossmoor District 161 has found a replacement. Lisa Dallacqua was unanimously appointed to the post at Monday’s board of education meeting.
School staff members recognized for outstanding service
As the school year ends, teachers, administrators and staff are retiring from Homewood-Flossmoor schools. District 161 names new assistant principal at Parker
Jennifer Hartman will be the new assistant principal at Parker Junior High School. The Flossmoor District 161 Board of Education unanimously voted for her appointment at Monday’s meeting.
Despite state shortfall, District 161 may end fiscal year in black
The budget, a new math curriculum and the pros and cons of hiring a firm to verify residency were tackled at this week’s Flossmoor District 161 Board of Education meeting. Also, the board honored student Diego Garcia, currently enrolled at SPEED SEJA (Special Education Joint Agreement) in Chicago Heights.
Parker students honored for history fair projects
Parker Junior High School had 32 students honored by the Flossmoor District 161 Board of Education May 8 for their outstanding projects in the Chicago Metro History Fair.
Western Avenue Principal Prosen headed for Oak Brook school
Western Avenue School Principal Chad Prosen resigned this week. He will become the new principal at Brook Forest School in Butler District 53 in Oak Brook beginning with the 2017-18 school year. The District 53 school board approved Prosen’s hiring on May 8.
