Homewood Credit Union in 82nd Year

For more than 80 years, the Homewood Federal Credit Union has been making a difference in the lives of people in Homewood and Flossmoor. The credit union, founded in 1937, is one of the oldest businesses in Homewood. Today it has 1,000 members.

Vice District Brewing closing Homewood taproom

A craft brewery that needed multiple timeline extensions and received $100,000 in incentives from Homewood is closing its taproom at 18027 Dixie Highway. In a Facebook post dated June 24, Vice District said it was shifting focus toward distribution.

Tyler Schlaffer has been a fan of the Chicago Cubs from the sandbox. Ever since he was little, the Homewood-Flossmoor High School alumnus dreamed of playing for that major league baseball team. Now he’s celebrating his literal dream come true, after being drafted by the Cubs in early June.
