Building A Meditative Practice: A 4-Week Series
This 4-week introduction to meditation series is a powerful way to begin or build the foundation for a daily meditation practice.
Week 1 | Introduction to Meditation
What is Meditation?
-explanation of meditation and its various forms
Benefits of Meditation
-mental, physical, and emotional benefits
Basic Breathing Techniques
-diaphragmatic breathing
-simple breathing exercises
Guided Meditation
-5-10 minute guided session focusing on the breath
Week 2 | Mindfulness Meditation
What is Mindfulness?
-the concept of being present
Mindfulness Exercises
-body scan
-mindful eating + drinking (chocolate + tea)
Guided Meditation
-10-15 minute session focusing on body sensations and present moment awareness
Week 3 | Meditation for Stress Reduction
Understanding Stress
-explore how stress affects the body and mind
Techniques for Stress Reduction
-meditation in movement
-chanting
-progressive muscle relaxation
Guided Meditation
-15-20 minute session focusing on releasing tension and stress
Week 4 | Integrating Meditation into Daily Life
Creating a Meditation Routine
-tips for consistency and setting up a meditation space
Overcoming Common Challenges
-dealing with distractions and maintaining focus
Closing Guided Meditation
-20-25 minute session incorporating all techniques learned
Additional Resources:
Homework | participants are encouraged to practice daily – building from 5 minutes to 30 minutes
Resources | provide handouts and recommend apps/books for further practice
Community Building | gather feedback from participants to understand their progress and challenges
This series will provide a comprehensive introduction to meditation, gradually building participants’ confidence and skills.
You are invited to come dressed comfortably with your yoga mat and anything that helps you feel comfortable when seated. Plan to bring a sweater or a wrap to help keep yourself warm. Chairs will be made available for those who prefer.

No refunds will be provided. If you are unable to attend a live session, a recording will be made available to you. All recordings will be available for 6 months after the series is complete.
The link for the live sessions will be sent the day before the series begins. The same link will be used for each of the 4 classes. The link to the recording will be made available 24 hours after the live class occurs.
