Work set to begin on Millennium Park’s Splash Pad
Young children will get to enjoy a 2018 model of the Splash Pad this summer. Construction on the new amusement is expected to begin in early April and be open to the community on Memorial Day weekend.

Sales tax referendum passes by wide margin in Flossmoor
Flossmoor Mayor Paul Braun, along with trustees and other supporters, celebrated Tuesday night the passage of a referendum question that will implement a 1 percent village sales tax.
Supporters, opponents react to Homewood home rule vote
Supporters and opponents of home rule in Homewood disagreed on what the results of Tuesday’s referendum said about the village. Opponents said safeguards against potential abuse were not strong enough. Proponents noted the influence of outside groups in the campaign.
Homewood voters reject home rule; Flossmoor OKs sales tax hike
Home rule won’t be coming to Homewood. Voters overwhelmingly rejected the designation. Flossmoor voters, however, gave strong support to a one-cent sales tax.
