H-F students start work on newest sculpture

Reflected light, original music and a high-tech control system will be features of the newest student sculpture on the Homewood-Flossmoor High School campus. Plans for “Solar Wind,” which would be the 13th student sculpture at H-F, were presented to the District 233 school board on Nov. 21

Park district adjusting budget to fund new Splash Pad

Millennium Park will get a new Splash Pad in the spring, but it will cost more than what was budgeted. The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District is expected to approve a budget amendment at its Dec. 19 board meeting for another $100,000 to be added to the $200,000 already allocated for the project. 

Grab your mittens and head to Saturday’s Winterfest

Flossmoor Winterfest guests will step into a storybook this year as they join their neighbors Saturday for the annual downtown holiday celebration from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9. The children’s wintertime book “The Mitten” by Jan Brett is the theme for this year’s celebration.
