District 161 students accomplish reading goal
It wasn’t hard to read a million pages when the more than 2,300 students in District 161 joined forces. The district’s students started a goal for the month of May as the Million Reading Challenge Partnership and kept on reading through the end of the school year on June 7.
Cummings retires after 27 years in Army Reserves
People serving in the military still need legal services, and one Homewood attorney was there for them for 27 years. Homewood Village Attorney Chris Cummings retired in December 2017 as a colonel from the Judge Advocate General Corps of the United States Army Reserve.
D153 reading specialist collecting books for African visit
District 153 reading specialist Maureen Daley is taking her love of books to Africa this summer. Daley will be one of 25 people traveling to Ghana for 10 days through Literacy Empowerment Action Program (LEAP) for Ghana.
