Nancy Spaniak retires from H-F High administrative position
Dr. Nancy Spaniak, director of curriculum, instruction and professional development, is retiring from her position at Homewood-Flossmoor High School. The District 233 school board wished her well and thanked her for the 16 years of leadership she has shown. Her contract ends June 30.

Paraprofessional Lakeisha Warren was special assistant to classroom teachers
For 19 years, Lakeisha Warren was a helping hand in Western Avenue School classrooms. Warren was a paraprofessional, the person called upon to give a student a one-to-one lesson that came with a smile and encouragement. She retired at the end of the school year.
Science teacher at James Hart takes retirement
After 13 years, Patricia Evans decided it was time to leave her classroom in Homewood District 153. “Science can be tough, and eighth grade science can be difficult,” she said, but high school students would come back and tell her thanks for all she taught them.
Clark Carey retires after 33 years of fun and games
For 33 years, Clark Carey has been passing the ball – literally. He just retired as a physical education teacher at Willow School in Homewood where he helped students develop their motor skills, hand-eye coordination and fitness and exercise routines.
