H-F students stage ‘Mamma Mia!’ Friday and Saturday

The Homewood-Flossmoor High School theater program presents its annual musical “Mamma Mia!” at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 15 and 16, in the Mall Auditorium in the South Building, 999 Kedzie Ave. in Flossmoor.
 
This rousing musical tells the story of Sophie, a young woman in search of her birth father — one of three possibilities — on the eve of her wedding day, much to the frustration of her mother.
 
Cast members are Charles Austin, Morgan Barber, Adeera Harris, Ava Jones, Nate Jones, Aaron Newman, Noah Patton, Darrow Richmond, Ally Ryan, Jeremiah Ryan, Matthew Ryan, Noelle Oh and Greta Schmidt.
 
Ensemble performers, led by dance captain Caroline Bivens, are Jamia Akil, Siara Carpenter, Bill Colton, Emmet Conaway, Ariel Davis, Brandon Eddy, Natalie Elfner, Miranda Esparza, Ashley Gardner, Kobe Gosha, Isabella Jackson, Lilah Kreis, Breanne LeBlanc, Neil MacCormack, Sullivan Matthys, Ariel Mitchell, Mia Napue (dance captain), Kai Offett, Grace Opyd, Haley Sawyer, Jada Seaton, Zora Shannon, Jaekwon Watkins, Masila Whorton and Ellie Wojcikowski.
 
The tale unfolds on a Greek island paradise, set to the sounds of the 1970s band ABBA. 

For this production, music is performed by H-F student-musicians Sam Calhoon, Natalia Carpio, Danielle Johnson, Elizabeth Krueder, Victor Olaleye, Sofi Riedel and Olivia Streitmatter under direction of teacher Sarah Whitlock with assistance from Susan Pawlak.
 

The musical is directed by teacher Jill Bonavia-Galligani, with musical direction by teacher Steve Sifner. Student assistant directors are Avery Calhoon, Anly Flores, Faith Kenshol, Halena Laven, Kayla Young and Khyla Young. 
General admission tickets will be available at the door for each performance: $10 for adults and $8 for students or senior citizens. 

This show is recommended for people 13 and older.
