The Homewood Police Department on Friday, July 10, reported on its traffic enforcement efforts during April, May and June.
Officers participated in the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) Sustained Traffic Enforcement Grant program, working 146 hours outside of their regularly scheduled shifts to improve traffic safety in the village.
Officers issued:
- 34 seat belt citations
- 187 speeding citations
- 34 distracted driving citations
- 20 other traffic citations
