It’s been a week since strong storms moved through the area, and the community continues to recover from the high winds and torrential rains of July 3 and July 4.
At 7 a.m. Monday, July 6, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District reservoir at Thornton quarry’s stormwater reservoir was holding 7.3 billion gallons of water. That’s 94% of its capacity. By Saturday, July 11, the reservoir had receded to 6.6 billion gallons of water or 84%…
