Homewood-Flossmoor High School gave special recognition on its May graduation ceremony to 12 outstanding students who represent the Class of 2026 Viking Scholars.
These outstanding students represent the top 1% of the class of 370 students based on their grade point average.
“Our Viking Scholars are a demonstration and showcase of academic excellence over four
years. This is our top 1%,” Principal Clinton Alexander said. “These kids show hard work and dedication, come every day, and do their very best, and they lead their peers in academia. We’re super proud to celebrate them in that crowning achievement of being a Viking Scholar because that’s a rare one percentile. We know that they’ll make us proud moving forward because kids in that situation do so. Just super proud and elated for those kids, and optimistic about what the future holds for them.”
Viking Scholars are Max Benitez, Chloe Cleland, Caylum Ganshirt, Isaac Griggs, Julian Grisius, Kathryn Krupa, Nikolai Lawrence, Lucia Magan, Cormac Saunders, Caleb Stamps, Cyanna Wasniowski and Alexander Wettstein.
