Dale Bowman, who grew up surrounded by neat farms, has come to appreciate the Midewin Prairie as more than an “overgrown mess.”

Bowman, the now retired outdoor columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times, will be the guest presenter for the June 25 meeting of Green Drinks. His topic will be “Amish Farm to Prairie Appreciation” looking at not only the Midewin Prairie but other sites in the immediate area.

The program is from 6 to 8 p.m. at Soundgrowler Brewing, 8201 183rd St. in Tinley Park.
