Highlights:

  • Consider a resolution that would allow only government flags to be flown from village-owned flag poles in response to a recent request from a group of residents to display LGBTQ+ Pride flags during June. 
  • Consider endorsing two Cook County Class 8 property tax relief designations, one for 18123 Harwood Ave., home of the future Hibbing Hotdogs and Old Fashion Donuts, and one for 2345 W. 183rd St., home of Berkot’s Super Foods. 
  • Hear a presentation on HVAC improvements, replacing the existing geothermal system, for the police and fire department buildings by Kluber Engineering and consider a contract with the firm for engineering and design work.
  • Hear a presentation from SB Friedman on a proposal to conduct a bond feasibility study for the North Halsted TIF District and consider a budget amendment and contract for the study.

Myths and Magic Book Club. Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, will host a discussion from 6 to 8 p.m. of “Mother of Rome” by Lauren J. A. Bear. Books will be available for checkout at Circulation Services.

Youth Chess Club. Weekly all-ages youth chess club from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Beyond the Book, 18063 Dixie Highway. Children can learn strategy, build confidence, and connect with new friends. Whether your child is just learning the game or ready to sharpen their skills, the club encourages critical thinking. Register here.

Choo-Choo Ride. A four-ish mile easy paced bike ride around Homewood and Flossmoor. Starts at 6:30 p.m. at GoodSpeed Cycle, 2125 W. 183rd St. in Homewood. Ends at the shop with a cool treat.
