- Accept alternate proposals for 1313-1351 175th St. and direct staff to evaluate and present the results at a future meeting.

- Consider a resolution endorsing a Cook County Class 8 property tax relief designation for Munir Bawadi, who proposes to develop a Mediterranean restaurant at 18155 Dixie Highway.

Read, Rock, n’ Rhyme. Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, will host story time for kids age birth to 7 years old. Kids will be able to dance, shake and wiggle as we share stories, songs, rhymes, and more from 10:30 to 11 a.m. in the Rauch Reading Room. Register here.
Read, Play, & Grow!: A Storytime for Babies and Toddlers. Meet in the Helen Wilson Meeting Room at Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., from 10:30 to 11 a.m. for fun activities that help develop early literacy skills for babies and toddlers. Register here.
Thursday, Feb. 26
Baby Bloomers. Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, will host story time for children aged birth to 2.5 years old and their caregivers. There will be stories, songs, bubbles and free play in the Rauch Reading Room from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Register here.
Thornton Distillery Tour. Participants will meet at Irwin Center, 18120 Highland Ave. in Homewood, at 6 p.m. For anyone age 21 or older. This will be a chance to step inside Illinois’ oldest standing brewery. Trip will include distillery tour, a meal and transportation to and from Irwin Center. Friday, Feb. 27
Family Swim. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. the H-F Racquet & Fitness Club, 2920 W. 183rd St. will host Family Swim Night. Pool toys allowed (but not squirt guns), or use noodles and kick boards provided by the club. Free for H-F Racquet & Fitness Club members, $5 for H-F Park District residents, $10 for non-residents. Fort Building. Irwin Community Center, 18120 Highland Ave. in Homewood will host a night of designing and building from 6 to 9 p.m. for first through fifth grade students. Sketch out your design and then use cardboard boxes and other supplies to create your own fort. When you’re finished, watch a short movie on the big screen while you hang out in your new fort and enjoy some snacks. Please bring your own pillow and blanket for the short flick. Fee is $35 for H-F Park District residents; $45 for non-residents. Visit the website.
Three Minutes in the Spotlight. Spotlight Performance Academy will host an evening of music starting at 7 p.m. at Beyond Borders Cafe, 1036 Sterling Ave. in Flossmoor. Spotlight performers will show what they’ve been working on.
Saturday, Feb. 28
Izaak Walton General Meeting. The meeting from 7 to 8 p.m. at Izaak Walton Preserve, 1100 Ridge Road, will feature a presentation by Tristan Shaw, the owner of Possibility Place, on native gardens and native plants. Free milkweed seed packets will be available.
Sunday, March 1
Irish Music with Gavin Coyle. Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, will host an hour of Irish music starting at 1 p.m. in the meeting room.
Thursday, March 5
All That Jazz. The Center for Performing Arts at Governors State University, 1 University Parkway, University Park, will present “All That Jazz,” a high-energy celebration of American dance — past, present and future. The event will showcase choreography and dance by talented students, faculty and alumni from Governors State University’s Theatre and Performance Studies and Dance Company. Shows will be at 10 a.m. March 5 and 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. March 7. Tickets available at CenterTickets.net.
An Unfinished Journey: African American Music in its Pivotal Decades. Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., will host an evening with musician and historian Clarence Goodman, who will perform and discuss songs from pivotal moments in African-American history from 7 to 8:15 p.m. in the Helen Wilson Meeting Room. Registration is not required.
Monday, March 9
Learn to Curl. H-F Park District will offer two sessions from 7:15 to 9:15 Monday, March 9, and Monday, March 16, at the H-F Ice Arena, 777 Kedzie Ave. in Flossmoor. The class is designed for beginners and those looking to refine their skills. For anyone age 15 and up. Fee is $75. Click here to register.
Saturday, April 4
H-F Community Cleanup Day. The H-F Park District and the villages of Homewood and Flossmoor are collaborating on one big communitywide clean-up day from 8 a.m. to noon. The event will begin with breakfast at Wiley’s Grill, 800 Kedzie Ave., then individuals and groups will fan out to tidy up. Sign up here.

Walk Through Our Mission. You Matter 2 will host an immersive evening at Flossmoor Community Church, that introduces the organization’s work with youth through storytelling, creativity and connection. Guests will journey through interactive stations led by students, alumni and volunteers, experiencing firsthand how You Matter 2 supports youth from middle school through career readiness. The evening will conclude with a Spotlight Program featuring student stories, a live auction, and a collective paddle raise, which is a fundraising practice that attendees to raise their bidder paddles to commit to specific donation levels, to support our programs.
