Homewood-Flossmoor School District 233 Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 8 a.m. in the superintendent’s conference room in the South Building, 999 Kedzie Ave. The agenda is available here. The board expects to convene in closed session to discuss student disciplinary matters.

Rising Readers. Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, will host story time from 10:30 to 11 a.m. in Rauch Reading Room for ages newborn to 6 years old with stories, songs, bubbles and more. Register here.

Stitches and Shenanigans. Bring your fiber arts projects to the meeting room in Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway from 6 to 8 p.m.

Nailed It!: Valentine Cookie Edition. Kids aged 9 to 14 are invited to the Helen Wilson Meeting Room at Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., from 6 to 7 p.m. for the library’s cookie challenge inspired by the baking show Nailed It! The library will provide pre-baked cookies, decorating supplies and a mystery design to recreate.

Homewood Stories. The monthly storytelling show will feature five storytellers at Flossmoor Community Church Community House, 847 Hutchison Road. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., show starts at 7:30 p.m. Guests are invited to bring their own treats and drinks. Admission is $15 (in cash) at the door.

Lassen’s Tuesday Trivia. Test your knowledge from 8 to 11 p.m. at 2131 W. 183rd St. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Open Mic. Robin’s Nest Music at 585 North Williams St. in Thornton will host beginners and pros alike for a family-friendly open mic night from 8 to 10 p.m.
