
Homewood-Flossmoor High School will be back in session Friday after being closed Thursday, Jan. 15, due to a power outage.
In the early morning hours on Thursday staff found that the North Building had no lights and emergency systems.
The school day shifted to an eLearning Day. The more than 2,700 students at H-F were required to be present for virtual attendance at 9 a.m. Students were following asynchronous lesson plans through Google classroom and teachers were available through email.
PR Director Carla Erdey said ComEd crews were on campus for hours “digging to address the issue.”
In a 3 p.m. email to the Chronicle Thursday she said power had been restored.
