Scott has been working with nonprofits for 25 years, the last six years as Anew’s chief advancement officer. Her experience in fundraising, strategic partnerships and stakeholder engagement provides a strong foundation and insight into the next chapter of Anew, said Michael Leonard, Anew’s board president.

Scott succeeds Jennifer Gabrenya, who has held the leadership position for more than nine years.

“I am incredibly grateful to lead Anew at this pivotal stage, and I look forward to broadening our reach and helping survivors throughout south suburban Cook County,” Scott said. “I am eager to build on the foundation established by Jennifer and to work with our dedicated team and community partners to further our mission of providing comprehensive, coordinated services to families in which domestic violence exists, without imposing any one solution.”

Leonard said Anew is “the organization it is today because of (Jennifer’s) vision, heart and unwavering commitment to our clients and staff.”

Anew: Building Beyond Violence and Abuse services include a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, counseling, court advocacy, transitional and rapid rehousing, partner abuse intervention and community education and prevention programs. Additional information on programs and services is at the organization’s website.
