The Village of Homewood will expanded the Homewood Farmers Market on Saturday, Aug. 23, adding more vendors and ready-to-eat food options along with a special celebration in honor of National Senior Citizen Day.
In recognition of National Senior Citizen Day, which was Aug. 21, the market will offer shoppers aged 55 and older a free scoop of ice cream from Dip N’ Double. The first 50 seniors will also take home a complimentary Homewood Farmers Market tote bag.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to bring the community together and celebrate our seniors while enjoying everything the market has to offer,” said Village President Rich Hofeld. “Between fresh produce, handmade goods, delicious food and special giveaways, it’s a perfect summer Saturday in Homewood.”
The market will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Martin Square, in downtown Homewood, and features a wide variety of fresh produce, baked goods, artisan items, and entertainment. With new ready-to-eat food vendors joining the lineup, guests can shop, snack, and stay for a fun-filled morning and afternoon of great shopping, cool treats and lively community vibes.
