Gobble Doggs holds grand opening in Homewood Aug. 9 with mural unveiling, scholarships

Gobble Doggs celebrated its official grand opening in downtown Homewood at 2025 Ridge Road on Saturday Aug. 9. The restaurant, known for its turkey and vegan hot dogs, offered complimentary samples at the event.

Annah Mitchell, owner of Gobble Doggs, thanked everyone for being there. With a successful turnout and long lines extending past the door, customers eagerly waited their turn to receive a hot dog sample of their choice.

Sylvia and her husband, John Williams, tried the Chicago style and savory, plus BLTC (bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheddar) dogs.

“It was very good,” Williams said, adding, “we’ll be back!”

Attendees also got to witness the mural unveiling, which was painted by two Hillcrest high school students, Jayla Phillips and Mary George. The mural depicted Gobble Doggs in downtown Homewood under a bright sky with parachutes carrying hot dogs.

Jamilah Adebesin Mason, art teacher at Hillcrest, thanked Mitchell for giving her students the opportunity to do the mural.
