Following the ceremony, the crowd headed inside to check out Newman’s collection of products, which are handmade and safe to use for every skin type, she said.

“I want to let the community know that I sell all-natural, vegan products,” Newman said.

While she focuses on skin and hair care, she sells several other types of items.

Newman’s products include body butters, nourishing hair oils and beard oils, soaps and bath products, perfumes, candles and air freshener. Customers can choose from a wide selection of scents.

Newman founded her business in 2017. It was formerly based in Lansing.

“I’ve been selling at Walmart and all that, so now I’m like it’s time for me to expand and open something up to share with the community,” Newman said.

Currently, Queen’s Lavish Scents is open from Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Starting Aug. 4, weekday store hours will change to Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
