Rep. Will Davis, D-Homewood, is offering a community shredding, electronics recycling and prescription drug take back event from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 15, at his office at 1912 W. 174th Street in East Hazel Crest.
This program is for households, not businesses.
The onsite shredding will continue until trucks are full. Residents are allowed two boxes per vehicle. Bring documents that contain personal information to be safely shredded, such as bank statements, medical records, old tax returns, pay stubs, bills, receipts and other personal documents. Remove paper clips and other bindings.
The electronics recycling includes all types of cables, calculators, cell phones, computer hardware, laptops, desktops, fax machines, printers, hand-held devices, hard drives, motherboards, televisions (one per household).
Prescription or non-prescription drugs will be accepted. Pharmaceuticals can be left in their containers.
