Homewood police warned residents Wednesday, July 6, to be alert for scammers claiming to be Internal Revenue Service (IRS) officials.
The scam perpetrators not only claim to be from the IRS but sometimes threaten arrest, license revocation or other penalties, according to a neighborhood watch alert from the Homewood Police Department.
