Lions Pool reopened Saturday just as temperatures in the area soared in the summer’s first heat wave.

The pool was closed last weekend when a crack was discovered in the bottom of the pool. Homewood-Flossmoor Park District quickly addressed the problem, and the pool reopened several days sooner than expected.

With temperatures in the 90s on Saturday, swimmers flocked back to the pool.

The pool will be open until 8 p.m.
